Divorce/Family Litigation
One of the hardest decisions for a couple to make, even if their marriage is failing, is to obtain a divorce. We are extremely sensitive to the needs of the husband, the wife and the entire family. We see our role as not only to represent our client but to ensure that at the end of the legal process, the family still has dignity, that the children are well taken care of and our client can continue with his or her life. Let’s be honest:  divorce is traumatic and can tear a family apart.

We are prepared to help our client answer these and other questions that arise in the divorce process:

• Are you a housewife who has helped your husband successfully manage his career while you cared for the family and worked at home? Are you entitled to half his professional earnings?  Should you be entitled to half his pension?
• If the marital home is in one spouse’s name, is the other spouse entitled to the home after the divorce?
• Can a husband receive support payments from his wife after the divorce?
• Will the children receive money for college even if their parents are divorced?
• Who will pay for their divorce?

Of course, some divorces present no contest because the wife and husband either have agreed to dissolve the marriage or they no longer reside together in New York State. Whatever the circumstance, we are prepared to patiently assist the family in holding their individual life afterward.
