Clover Barrett is the firm’s principal and has over 25 years of experience practicing law. She is a recognized authority on Divorce and Family Law, Bankruptcy Proceedings, Estates and Guardianship, and Criminal Law. She has also represented clients in Personal Injury Matters and Real Estate Transactions. Ms. Barrett possesses considerable litigation experience in State and Federal Courts and has represented clients in high profile cases that were broadcast and even followed internationally. In January 2012, as a “go to” expert on bankruptcy matters, she was a featured guest on Black Enterprise Business Report TV show.
Ms. Barrett is a former judicial law clerk to a Federal Bankruptcy Judge, and a former Court Attorney to Criminal Court judges. Admitted to practice law in the New York courts since 1985, she started her law practice in 1990.
In addition to being an experienced litigator, Ms. Barrett is trained in mediation theory and practice and provides the law firm’s Divorce clients an alternative to costly litigation in resolving their marital disputes and divorce actions.
Clover Barrett was born in Jamaica, West Indies, and grew up on the island until she emigrated to the United Sates, after graduating from St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School, a notable boarding school for girls in Jamaica. She received her law degree in 1985 from New York Law School and has a Bachelor’s Degree from the City University of New York.
Ms. Barrett oversees all legal matters in the firm.
